Born Lalisa Manobal in Buriram, Thaliand, Lisa is a solo rapper and dancer, and is known for being a member of K-pop group Blackpink.
Lisa became a member of Blackpink in 2016, where she plays the main dancer and lead rapper of the group — also comprising Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo. Blackpink has released a pair of albums, 2020’s The Album and 2022’s Born Pink, and gone on three massive world tours.
Lisa launched her solo career outside of the record-breaking group in 2021, dropping a pair of singles “Lalisa” and “Money,” which has garnered more than 1.2 billion streams on Spotify to date and dethroned Drake to take the top spot on Billboard’s Rap Digital Songs Sales chart. “Hip-hop is in my blood,” Lisa told Rolling Stone in 2022. Since her solo release in 2021, Lisa has tapped several artists, including Latin superstar Ozuna, DJ Snake, and Megan Thee Stallion. After “Lalisa” and “Money,” Lisa returned to Blackpink to release and tour 2022’s Born Pink.
The star marked her return to her solo career in 2024, releasing the Ryan Tedder-produced “Rockstar” in June 2024. Since then, she’s collaborated with Rosalía on the Tove Lo-penned “New Woman,” and even interpolated Sixpence None the Richer’s classic “Kiss Me” on her October 2024 single “Moonlit Floor.” In 2025, Lisa will take her talents to the screen as she’s set to star in a new season of White Lotus. – Tomás Mier
