Addison Rae Easterling, known professionally as Addison Rae, first rose to fame on TikTok. She began rapidly accumulating followers on the short-form video app in 2020 when she began posting videos of her pantomiming and dancing to viral sound bites and songs. She became a founding member of the creator collective known as the Hype House, which further pushed her into the A-list of social media stars.

By 2021, Rae began making her jump from TikTok to the entertainment world. She released her debut single “Obsessed” and starred in the Netflix film He’s All That, a gender-swapped remake of the Nineties classic She’s All That.

Both Rae’s music and film careers took a brief hit due to negative reviews and reactions online. But in 2022, her music found a new audience when songs she had recorded for then-shelved project leaked online and gained a cult following. She released her debut EP AR in 2023, which featured Charli XCX on the song “2 Die 4.” That same year, she starred in Eli Roth’s campy slasher flick Thanksgiving.

In early 2025, Rae and Charli XCX reunited for a remix of Charli’s Brat single “Von Dutch.” In the months following, Rae would successfully re-launch her music career with Columbia Records, dropping the dreamy single “Diet Pepsi.” The song cracked the Hot 100 and reintroduced the star as more than just a bubbly content creator: the production was as inventive and fun as the lyrics and an unexpected sonic route for her. She followed “Diet Pepsi” with the hypnotic “Aquamarine,” which acclaimed producer and artist Arca would later remix.

Rae’s debut album is due in 2025. She is also set to star in the film Animal Friends, alongside Ryan Reynolds, Aubrey Plaza, Dan Levy and more.
