Wet Leg in New York: Backstage With the Band
Wet Leg took their Moisturizer tour to New York’s Central Park SummerStage on Sept. 17, bringing the outrageously catchy, attitude-packed songs from their second album to a perfect late-summer/early-fall Manhattan night. After breaking through in a big way with their 2022 debut, which netted them two Grammy Awards and a rabid fanbase, they’ve kept the momentum going even stronger this year. Everything about Moisturizer feels like a level-up moment for this band — and after spending most of 2025 on tour, they’re sounding sharper than ever.
We went backstage with Wet Leg before the show, which also featured an excellently moody opening set by the rising London trio Mary in the Junkyard. You can catch both bands at Rolling Stone‘s next Gather No Moss concert in Nashville on Sept. 23. In the meantime, Wet Leg had a blast in New York. “It’s one of the places in America that feels closest to London, so spending a few days here on tour always feels really grounding,” singer-guitarist Rhian Teasdale tells us in an e-mail. “Kinda like a home away from home almost.”
