Rolling Stone’s “Future of Music U.K.” Showcase: The Best Photos
On Wednesday night, Rolling Stone’s “Future of Music U.K.” showcase kicked off at Hoxton Hall in London’s Shoreditch neighborhood. The event, part of the inaugural South by Southwest London festival, was headlined by the K’s, the Merseyside indie band who recently sold out London’s Roundhouse. Opening night was full of kinetic energy and noisy rock & roll from the K’s and from several other excellent, up-and-coming acts, including sister duo Baby Said, Glasgow indie band the Shambolics, Leeds-based alternative outfit the Kites, the self-described “post-something” outfit Cucamaras and the Nottingham punk trio Girlband!
On Night Two, Cassia — the Afro-Caribbean-inspired indie pop trio who just dropped their new record Everyone, Outside — put on a stellar headlining set. They were joined by joined by “chaotic pop papi” Bentley Robles, singer-songwriter Charlotte OC, shoegazers Salvana, London trio Stay in Nothing, and Wigan-based indie four-piece the Lilacs.
