Nathy Peluso Shines During Brooklyn Tour Stop
Nathy Peluso knows how to put on a show. The Argentine artist — and two-time Grammy nominee — is known for her unstoppable performance style and undeniable stage presence. On Saturday, she brought her skills to the Brooklyn Paramount and stunned the sold-out crowd with a spectacle of a show in support of her album GRASA, which came out last year.
The LP, Peluso told Rolling Stone at the time of its release, was a chance for her to reconnect with the sounds she grew up on. “I wanted to reacquaint myself with my roots,” Peluso said. “This album was about finding my foundational pillars – and the worlds of bolero, balada, and Latin folk sum up the essence of who I am.”
The project won Peluso her first Latin Grammy when it snagged the Best Alternative Music Album award in 2024. Since then, Peluso has kept spreading the GRASA gospel by plotting out a tour across the world. On Saturday, it brought her to the Brooklyn Paramount, where she played hit after hit to an audience that held on to every word and every move — and celebrated the success of the GRASA era.
All of it speaks to Peluso’s magic as a performer. “Sometimes I contemplate that character from the outside, and I’m surprised that she lives inside me,” she said. “Whenever I delve into my artistic process, this histrionic character appears with her pent-up fury ready to explode. It’s not rehearsed or anything like that… It’s a button that some unknown force pushes inside my brain whenever I’m performing.”
