Indie Rock Triple Threat: Bar Italia, Horsegirl, and Lifeguard Play Brooklyn
The guitars were buzzing and the crowd was jumping at Brooklyn Paramount on Nov. 22, when a stacked bill of indie rock trios took over the ornate theater. London’s Bar Italia headlined the night, while a pair of Chicago bands, Lifeguard and Horsegirl, opened. All three of these acts have three members each, and all three of them put out excellent albums this year on Matador Records. (Bar Italia’s live lineup also features two backing musicians, but let’s not quibble.) At the Paramount, bringing them all together on one night yielded triple the fun. Here are our best photos from the show, which was co-presented by the hip NYC newsletter Perfectly Imperfect.
