All Things Go NYC: See Janelle Monae, Muna, Reneé Rapp, Ethel Cain, Julien Baker
A decade after its launch as a wide-ranging indie/pop festival in suburban Maryland, the All Things Go festival came to New York for the first time on Sept. 27-28, 2024. The two-day event at the 13,000-capacity Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York, featured an impressive, largely femme-fronted lineup of stars including Reneé Rapp, MUNA, Ethel Cain, Janelle Monáe, and Julien Baker as headliners, plus Soccer Mommy, Mannequin Pussy, Coco & Clair Clair, Indigo de Souza, Towa Bird, Samia, and many more. (It was also a very LGBTQ+-friendly bill; U.K. singer-songwriter Maisie Peters joked that she was one of the few straight acts performing this year.) One notable absence was Chappell Roan, who canceled her scheduled appearance at All Things Go shortly before the weekend, citing the need to “prioritize [her] health” amid the pressures of new stardom. But the festival took that unexpected change in stride, booking a fabulous lineup of drag queens who performed to Chappell’s songs and kept the energy going. We were there to capture all the best moments from All Things Go NYC. Here are our photos from backstage, onstage, and in the crowd.
